This is recycle of a previous post of a backup and disaster recovery post. However it is again timely as we are having numerous discussion across may industries about this topic. Our discussion includes what needs to be done to mitigate the very serious risks of not having a proper backup system to a secure, redundant data centre such as C151, as part of a well though out disaster recovery plan. And the figures have not changed.

We have this backup discussion almost every single day with with potential C151 data center clients. It is astounding the number of data critical business that are not backed up and who have no disaster recovery plan or capability, both Cloud and non Cloud users. A Ponemon Institute study, sponsored by Emerson Network Power, estimated losses due to downtime at $7,900 per minute ($474,000 per hour).
